"My mission is to train Baseball / Softball players through the development of fundamental skills and the instruction of critical tactics and techniques that combine to support the physical and mental growth of our committed athletes. Additionally, I want to apply my experience at the highest levels of professional baseball, with a passion for seeing kids succeed, and knowledge of the sport to ensure the safe, fun, and guided improvement of the players who will dominate the diamond in the future."
I have been teaching for over 21 years and as my involvement in the sport continues, the value is in how it prepares individuals for life. The adjustments, the structure, the discipline, the creativity and the willpower to succeed at anything you put your mind to. My teaching evolved from making adjustments when I reached pro ball. Coaches commented on my natural technique, so I made adjustments to perfect my swing. At the request of the program, they asked if I would be able to teach in the process. Since it was so fresh in my mind, I knew it would be an easy transition to relate it to teaching children because I, myself had to go back to the basics and start from the beginning.
What’s unique about my teaching style is how well I relate to young adults and speak in a language they understand. They are able to make changes on the fly and understand why. I have tapped uncharted territory with their young minds. Giving someone the keys to the car is easy. Teaching them how to drive with focus, technique, and style, that’s where it transcends. Preparing them for those bumps they don’t see coming. That’s the true separation. I am able to see and analyze every play, understand and explain their options, therefore putting them in a position that continually keeps them in the driver seat. In a nutshell, prepare them for what lies ahead rather than one what their eyes can physically see.
The importance of individual personalized training is insurmountable. A masterful teacher needs to be able to break down habits, both good and bad to empower, change and reinforce with consistent repetition. Practicing with the proper mechanics repeatedly for an hour or half an hour will elevate your child's game. Proper repetition is what separates good athletes from great ones. This begins with individual training. These habits are ingrained in every student within weeks of training with me. Everything in life is an investment, all different forms of time, money, and energy. Invest in perfected habits for your child's success. Educate them early that everything in life is going to take time and effort and when the time and effort are put in, the universe has a way of always giving back what you put in. Quality.
